Character, Confidence, and Competency
Game Set Ghana aims to expose children to sport and exercise to develop positive and non-violent methods for dealing with conflicts and loss through the code of sportsmanship.
We are establishing a tennis community within Ghana through sustainable programming and knowledge transfer mechanisms.
From a psychological standpoint, children who play tennis develop skills and strategies that will serve them well in life off the court.
Testimony of Founder
I started Game Set Ghana after returning from a trip to Africa in the summer of 2006. I traveled throughout Ghana and spent most of my time with the locals.
The people were extraordinary, and I was impressed by their strength and spirit. Children were very eager to learn and always sought interaction.
I noticed many kids playing soccer but did not see one tennis court. Reflecting on the positive influence tennis had on my life, I immediately wanted those children to experience the same.
